Wayfinder is all about an adventurous journey, gaining powers, and more. The game has an engaging storyline, plot, and unique characters.
As a beginner, knowing which characters are great and which to avoid is important. Check the tier list below to stay updated.
Abilities
Every Wayfinder character has 4 specific abilities and one passive skill. These abilities can’t be changed between characters. However, you can equip different weapons on any character you like.
So, when you choose a Wayfinder, think more about their natural abilities and looks rather than their starting weapons. You can change weapons later, but abilities stay with the character.
Remember, nothing is forever, so try different Wayfinders and weapons as you unlock more choices along the way.
Wayfinder Selection
When you start Wayfinder, there are seven classes (called Wayfinders) to choose from, and more are added each season. During your first game, you’ll go through a tutorial and pick one of the three starters (Niss, Wingrave, or Silo). This choice will be your character for your adventures in the world of Evanor.
The other four Wayfinders are Heroic Kyros, Kyros, Venomess, and Senja. You’ll need to unlock or craft them in the game. If you have a Wayfinder Token from a Founder’s Pack, you can use it to unlock any Wayfinder now or later.
You can also get Venomess easily through one of the reward towers; it provides all the crafting pieces you need.
Heroic Kyros is exclusive to the $150 founders pack and can only be unlocked that way.
What’s the best weapon in Wayfinder?
According to the general community opinion, the Tempest shotgun is considered the best weapon in the current Early Access version of Wayfinder.
- It’s easy to use
- High base attack
- Amazing burst damage
- Double Firerate speed is possible
Arcstorm is also highly regarded and may even outperform Tempest in certain situations.
Best endgame weapons
Not everyone prefers shotguns, so here are the best Wayfinder weapons categorized by type:
Weapon Type | Best Weapon |
---|---|
Gun | Tempest or Arcstorm |
2-Hander | Titan’s Bane |
Sword & Shield | Tooth and Claw |
Daggers | Night’s Edge |
Which Starter Wayfinder to choose?
The game offers three starter characters, but you can only pick one after finishing the tutorial. No need to worry; you can craft the others later if you decide to.

Archetype | Arcanist |
Role | DPS |
Signature Weapon | Epitaph (Scythe) |
Difficulty | Easy (1.5/5) |
Recommended Weapons | Epitaph, Nights Edge, Tooth & Claw, Titan’s Bane |
Kyros is currently the best at dealing damage in the game. He can do big damage quickly when he uses his special weapon, Epitaph, and his ultimate move, “Hand of Reckoning.”
He’s a bit like a wizard character in Wayfinder. He uses magic to hurt enemies while holding a big Scythe (his special weapon). He’s really good at attacking groups of enemies at once.
You can get Kyros by crafting him or using a Wayfinder Token from a Founder’s Pack.
Heroic Kyros is a special version you can only get from the Founder’s Pack. He’s got more slots for Echo, more Echo power, and more damage. You have to get Heroic Kyros separately from the regular Kyros.
Think of Heroic Kyros like a super rare character in Warframe called Excalibur Prime. He might not be available after Early Access is over. But there might be other powerful heroic characters by then.
Kyros is a War Mage who remembers a forgotten place called the Kingdom of Ashes. He’s super powerful with magic but is also a scientist trying to understand and stop the Gloom. But there’s a lot Kyros doesn’t remember about his past.
